Have Geordies evolved to no longer feel the cold? Newcastle ScienceFest seeks volunteers now!

Do people from the North East really feel the cold less? Newcastle ScienceFest is trying to find out why Geordies seem to be oblivious when it comes to dressing appropriately for the cold and why they seem to have little use for coats, whatever the weather.

Angel of the NorthIs it because Geordies have evolved genetically to withstand the cold or is it simply because we like to show off on a night out? What do you think of this commonly-held belief? On a night out, do you wrap up when the weather turns cold or bear all in the name of fashion? We want to get to the bottom of this mystery and need lots of volunteers, particularly if you’re aged 18 – 30. Take part in our fun survey and you could win a prize!
